Bios
Bill Emerson & Sweet Dixie
Bill Emerson - was born in Washington DC and makes his home in Vienna Virginia. He started singing and playing the banjo in1953 and went on to become the founder of the world famous Country Gentlemen. He is one of the most influential 5 string banjo players of all time and has recorded and performed with more bands than any other banjo player. He has a keen interest in fly fishing and amateur photography.
Wayne Lanham - is originally from Manassas, Virginia and lives in the Shenandoah Valley. He started singing and playing mandolin as a teen and has since developed his own clean, fluid style of picking. He is also a fine fiddle player. An outstanding singer, writer and arranger, Wayne is able to sing all the harmony and lead vocal parts equally well. He performed and recorded with several top bluegrass artists before joining the Sweet Dixie Band.
Teri Chism - was born in Morocco while her father was stationed there with the U.S. Navy. She now lives in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. She started singing and playing guitar at an early age and came to bluegrass music in the 70s. Teri performed and recorded with several top bluegrass groups before coming to the Sweet Dixie Band. She is a superior bassist and exceptional lead and harmony vocalist.
Chris Stifel - grew up around the Washington DC area and currently resides in Brookeville, MD. Originally a Banjoist, Chris switched to guitar when he replaced Keith Whitley as lead vocalist for The Country Store band during the early '70s. His lifelong dedication to bluegrass is matched only by his passion for Fly Fishing and Racquet sports.
Wally Hughes - is an excellent singer and multi-instrumentalist originally from Delaware, now residing in Northern Virginia. Wally started playing dobro with his parent's family band when he was 11 and moved on to the fiddle and other instruments soon after. For a number of years he had his own band in Delaware while recording and playing with other groups from the area. He recorded and played in a band with Steve Huber in the early 80s and has performed with Mike Auldridge and many other top DC bluegrass musicians.
Lynn Morris - Audio Engineer

Lynn grew up in the small West Texas farming community of Lamesa. She was the first person to twice win the coveted National Banjo Championship in Winfield Kansas and is a three time IBMA female vocalist of the year. She is also a seven time traditional female vocalist of the year with SPBGMA. Lynn makes her home in Winchester VA and is married to award winning bassist Marshall Wilborn. She is also an artist and is active in national animal rights organizations.
