June 3

Hi to Everyone!!!

Well, I have finally decided on our "days" together for our 40th celebration. I know that everyone will be arriving on different days, but I hope this schedule of events will help you make your decision for driving/flying time.

*Friday - October 24th - 7:00 p.m. *We will all meet at the "Waterfront" (bar, formerly Chris's or Crystal Bay, all depending when you began your booze cruise days) for shots, a few beers, and stories from classmates who had crushes on each other! There is a restaurant attached in the front of the building, Gencarelli's, which is *small* but has great "Italian food". The restaurant does get crowded on weekends but perhaps we can get a few Jersey pizzas and bring them to the Waterfront or eat them on the beach - haha. We can move on from there if we prefer. (pay as you go)

*Saturday - October 25th - 10:00 a.m.* Ahhh, a walk around Packanack Lake beginning at the clubhouse. (Bring your camera).( Please note that Wayne Hills can join us if they wish. Barb Feddema has a very busy schedule around this weekend and will not be able to plan a walk around Pines or Lionshead Lakes). We can park there. If you wish, we can have lunch at Panera's Bread on Rt. 23 South. grab a Jersey deli sandwich from the Packanack Shopping Plaza or at Miranda's Restaurant, which is next to Nagel's Candy Barn (yum) and maybe you would want to stop in to sniff the best chocolate in "Jersey". (pay as you go)

*Saturday - later afternoon* - I will need some help with decorations at the Elks. We must set the tables with linens & ballons, which Art Dardia will pickup for us with his van. You can volunteer on Saturday a.m.

*Saturday - October 25th - 7:30 p.m.* 40th Reunion - Wayne Valley/Wayne Hills 1968 Wayne Elks Club - 50 Hinchman Ave., Wayne NJ - Check our website: www.gotech.com/Wayne1968 for ticket information.

*Sunday - October 26th - 10:30 - 11:00 a.m.* - Brunch at the Pompton Queen Diner - Rt. 23 North, in the same place it has always been (pay as you go)!

Any questions - let us know!

Hugs for Al!

----------------------------- An update from Augie Pairo:

The Friday night before the Class Reunion will be a Wayne Hills football game. At the moment we don’t know who or where they will be playing but I will let you know once the information is made available. This might be interesting as a get together. This fall my son will be a senior and is a defensive tackle. I’m sure Wayne Valley will be playing that night to. As a note, last year at Giant Stadium Hills beat Valley for the state championship. 27 to 7 -----------------------------

thanks..pete.

Hello Wayne Hills & Wayne Valley 1968 Classmates,

This is the first of a number of Newsletters to keep you informed about the 1968 Wayne Valley & Hills High School 40th Class Reunion.

The site address is http://www.Gotech.com/Wayne1968

This site if for you so do let us know if there are changes, additions or deletions that are needed.

You can know take a walk down memory lane as we finally have Yearbook pictures of everyone for your viewing pleasure. If a listed student is not pictured in the Yearbook it will state Not Pictured after their name. Also, I still need to add the final page from each Yearbook that unfortunately has In Memory Of, and students who did not get photographed. For those of you who are not pictured in the Yearbook you can send via email an appropriate teenage picture of yourself and I will put it up for you. No excuse for being left out unless you do not have pictures.

Questions about Hotel rooms, where to eat, etc. Just email me and I will get back to you and/or post the information on the web site for every one to see. Travel by air? I use http://www.expedia.com for comparison purposes and then look for my best deal. I have extensive travel experience and have been using air travel on a regular basis since 2001. 9/11? Unfortunately, I was in Las Vegas and had to return to Virginia for business reasons and wound up driving non-stop for 56 hours. A long drive. No silly, not by myself.

The Pompton Diner is a great place to eat and meet other classmates. My class did a brunch there the day after our reunion last year. This being the first Web Site Newsletter I guess I should add a bit here for those who don’t know who the heck I am, don't care(only kidding) or just can't remember me from High School. I’m in the Class of 1967 and happen to be doing the Class of 1968 web site too. My wife, Paula Mitchell is in your class from WV. She lived on French Hill Road. You can see current and high school pictures of Paula, her children, grandchildren at http://www.gotech.com/waynevalley/StudentPage/PeterMilano/ The scribble that you will see on the WV yearbook pictures are from some of you signing Paula’s yearbook which is what I used to scan in the pictures.

For Wayne Hills your “go-to” reunion person is Barbara Feddema bdardia@yahoo.com and for Wayne Valley, Pattie Monsaert waynevalley68mons@yahoo.com who is spearheading this reunion. Of course either one will be more than happy to hear from you.

For those who haven’t been around for many years here are a few items:

The La Quinta Inn & Suites is at the end of Ratzer Road at Route 23. It used to be the Wellesley Inn & Suites and before that which we all know it was the HoJo.

No more circles. Just Jug Handles for making turns. Ratzer Road circle is gone. If you come up Hamburg Turnpike from Valley Road (Yes, Valley Road was extended from Ratzer Road up to Hamburg Turnpike, if you have forgotten), going toward the T-Bowl and want to turn left onto Church Lane then you must turn right into the Jug Handle. Oh, and the T-Bowl is gone too. Moved. Remember in the T-Bowl shopping center there was a Dairy Queen nearer to Church Lane? It became a Burger King. It is now Vinnies Pizza Restaurant and has the best pizza this person eats. Mussels in marinara sauce are great too.

There is a Hotels page http://www.Gotech.com/Wayne1968/Hotels.htm and all the red circle dots on the map are hotels. I’ve listed the best deals individually. Questions? Email me.

The La Quinta has FREE in room wireless internet service and FREE continental breakfast included with the room. OJ, coffee, Danish, toast, Belgian waffles, muffins, and….. All self-serve and is located off of the lobby area. I stay there almost every time I go to Wayne to visit.

We need to hear from you if you would use a Credit Card to pay for your ticket(s) if offered. I offered it for my class and it costs me just under $5.00 to have each transaction processed by PayPal. If your ticket cost is near what ours was then it would be near the same cost to me and I would add the $5.00 charge to cover my cost. If enough classmates would use it then it will be offered.

If you have anything you would like to share with everyone send it in to me and I'll include it in the next newsletter.

Thanks..pete.
