One of the most important musical moments came for Emory while one day walking by his television set, he heard the music of Windham Hill artists behind a nature documentary that was airing at the time. He was soon introduced to a whole new collection of influences, including Will Ackerman, Michael Hedges and William Ellwood as guitarists, George Winston, Jim Chappell and Michael Jones as pianists, Alan Stivell and Andreas Vollenweider and harpists, and Darol Anger, Billy Oskay and Eugene Friesen as violinists and cellist. With the experience of working with Ellwood in Canada, Emory has been creating music of this type in abundance, and plans to make it available through his Quiet Fire Studios label. The ultimate in expressiveness - this music comes from somewhere - deepest in his heart.
