Wayne Valley High School Class of 1967 |

For this first piece of history I chose the Preakness Reformed Church on Church Lane. The angle of the shot puts the photographer standing at or within a few feet of Linda Sisti's driveway. I grew up in Wayne and lived around the corner from the church. Except for the road and surrounding area, the church did look this way during the 1950's. However, there was an addition on the far side that you can't see from this picture and it extended in the back too. There is a basement that was used for classes. As long as I can remember the church has had a pipe organ. It is well worth the time to attend a service to hear the organ being played or when there is a special presentation such as around the holidays. Church members made pledges to support the construction of the church addition that is there today. The small addition on the far side of this picture had/has a half court basket ball, and a small stage. The boy scout troop held their meetings there. | |||
